Friday, June 12th

We had a really nice last day of school.  We did all of our favorite activities, like playing in the sandbox, dancing to our favorite music, and reading our favorite stories.  It was difficult to explain that we all wouldn't be meeting quite in the same way, going forward, but we managed to establish a tiny bit of closure anyway.  It has been such a fun year.  Thanks to all for checking in with us here on the blog each day.  How wonderful that we could all share the year together like this.  Having an audience to enjoy our experiences alongside with us is so important.  The work we do here is given more life and meaning when it is shared.

I hope everyone has a terribly fun, safe, and relaxing summer!

Much Love,
Nicki and Janet

Thursday, June 11th

Dear 1B families,

Thank you all for such a lovely lunch today.  Janet and I both are struggling to find the right words to express just how much your children mean to us and what a pleasure it has been to learn and play with you all this school year.  It is such a gift to be apart of your lives.  The joy and purpose I find each day here at BMS is so precious to me.  Thank you all for your support and care and love, and, for being a part of something so special.

James, being the Gorilla on his shirt.

Misha mentioned the hat Mr. Tiger wears in the book, "Mr. Tiger Goes Wild".  So we made one.

Annabelle's mom, April, brought in a face painting kit at the beginning of the year.  We finally put it to use!  Look at our adorable cats and tigers.

Wednesday, June 10th

We had a fun day!  We played in the gym and then took along walk outside with the Pre-K1 class.  The students notice many different things on out walk:  numbers and letters, busses, the sound of the subway, other people, and the moon!  We stopped at Arcade Bakery on our way back to BMS to crab some pizzas to share with our lunches.  Emily, thanks for the suggestion and the Pizza Dough (Get it? Dough/money!) We also gave a try at making smoothies in preparation for our fun lunch tomorrow.  We used frozen strawberries, frozen bananas, strawberry Greek yogurt, and milk.
