SS II - Thurs, Aug. 13th

What a lovely day. We spent the majority of it outside, where we shared cold, juicy watermelon, and admired the plants in the garden at Washington Market Park.  The students spent some time running around in the field, but seemed more happy to be in the shade - partaking in what seemed like a far more relaxed and easy state than we usually find ourselves in when we head outside.  There's something thrilling about the frenetic joy exuded when we visit the park, but the more relaxed state experienced today was quite nice too.  The morning, before heading outside, seemed this way as well - although the room was set with sand and water to combine and play with, the students found a flow of play/experimentation that seemed easy, fun, and thoughtful.

Families - this will be the last blog post for the summer.  Please check in with Laura and Lupe tomorrow for specific details on the class' day, upon pick-up.  On behalf of all the teachers assisting with these sweet, sweet kids this summer, I'd like to extend a very warm "Goodbye" (for now!)  It has been such a pleasure getting to know many of you and your children - either for the first time, or in greater detail.  It has been such a delight to spend the day with your kids! AND, thanks for checking in with us here on the blog!  The things we do wouldn't be half as fun if we didn't have an audience to share them with.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and see you all in September!
