We played
with flashlights today. It was nice to
see the students engage with a different light source in the classroom and
gym. Giving the students access to a
tool like this will hopefully encourage them to find ways to manipulate and
control light in a particular way. We
also painted with these flashlights. The
students are very familiar with painting and it seemed worthwhile to alter the
event in some way, so paintbrushes were taped to the lights.

The students have taken an interest in using scissors. We have these really wonderful scissors that are completely plastic and are able to cut paper. The paper has to be held taught to cut well, but the experience still seems worth while because the students get an opportunity to struggle with a tool that takes coordination and practice.
Feeding the mice alphabet letters!
Misha did not want to feed the mice, but he would blow kisses!
