We will
continue to play with light and shadow, but it also seems like it might be time
to expand upon some additional ideas that have recently become of interest to
the students. One of these subjects is
related to baking – cakes, specifically.
While the students has participated in projects where we bake as a
class, it seemed important that the students be given an opportunity to bake,
or pretend to bake, more freely. This
morning the students were given flour, vegetable oil, and water to mix as desired. It was really enjoyable to watch all of these
focused individuals! We experienced lots
of articulate and specific movement for
a number of actions, like: pouring, stirring, scooping, transferring, carrying,
patting, and molding. Each batter had a
different consistency and each baker differed in his method of creation. We look forward to exploring this
subject!

Flynn: I need more!
Janet: More what?
Flynn: More corn.
Ethan, working with Learning Scissors. These scissors are great! They are completely plastic, yet capable of cutting!
James made me hide in a box that was too small for me, so, i decided to get into this one. All the students but Flynn saw me get in. We called Flynn from the box and asked him to find us. It was extra silly and fun and the whole group got such a kick out of the event!
He found us!
Noam, taking photos. "I wanna take a picture!"
James: A big one!
Noam: Look it! Look it!
He was very proud of the small piece of batter he made.
We have some new boxes of light with fun windows!
