Tuesday, January 6th

Janet and I have missed the kids quite a bit.  It has been so much fun to see everyone return from our two weeks off looking taller and acting wiser!  The day was loosely structured so that the students were able to do what felt most comfortable and familiar after so much time off.  Janet took some time to make shaken marble prints with a colorful arrangement of paints.  The students were able to select the four colors they liked best and then encouraged to shake a box holding paper to catch the paint.  We also took advantage of the falling snow to talk about this fascinating type of weather!

Slithering like snakes!

Flying like birds!

Annabelle, carefully building up.

She was so gentle with the blocks, anticipating that they may fall.

Then, she made a very deliberate move to push the structure down!

She seemed to enjoy this.

With these interesting cardboard pieces the students can reveal and conceal the light that glows through the clear bin.
