With a few friends out
of town and Janet taking a personal day, 1B was comprised of a small group
of learners today. With just Misha, Ethan,
and myself in the classroom, we were allowed long stretches of time to explore
a variety of experiences. Days like this
are particularly special to me. It is a lovely luxury to be able to give such undivided attention to a child and to provide the
freedom that comes with uninterrupted play and exploration.

The students are still far more interested in squeezing glue, than using it in the conventional way most are familiar with. It is my hope, that by allowing the boys to follow this desire/impulse, that they will continue to gain understanding of what the substance is like and how it can be utilized.
Shaking dance party!
I think Misha may have noticed his reflection in the base of the bowl at this moment.
I really enjoyed watching Misha enjoy the sensation of grabbing handfuls of sand and letting the sand fall from his fingers. He did this many times and laughed and smiled.
Misha, fascinated by the way he could arrange pinecones in the clay so that it was like they were standing up.
