SS1 - Tues, July 21st

We avoided the heat outside again today and, once again, kept busy with a number of actitivies to stay busy and cool!  This morning began with water play and ice.  We also had a chance to explore clay again and playing with legos.

Ella would touch the ice and then the water and say; "Cold!" followed by, "All clean."

Ella, examining the park scene we made as a class.

It's come to our knowledge, that when Elle kinda waves her hands in the air in a particular way and makes a few noises, she wants to hear "The Wheels On the Bus".  It's fun to have a mutual understanding without any language.  She seems to genuinely enjoy that she can communicate something very specific.

We borrowed a tent to play with and hide in!  Here, we're looking in on Ella!

Ella walked in from the other room with this toy to her ear as seen.

"Hello, Grandpop!"

"Talk later."

"Hello, Grandma!"

"Bye, bye dogs!" - "dogs" may not be what she said.  Do Ella's grandparents own dogs? Maybe Ella's mom can confirm that for us?!

Anna, after touching the ice: "Cold!"

Anna, confirming that she was heard: "Cold."

Valdi, arriving in style.

Cian says to bear, "Snack coming."`

Cian later pointing to the table, right next to bear and said; "Wah, wah."  I asked him if he thought bear might want some water and he said, "Yes."

Cian, fixing food for bear in the kitchen.

Julia, singing "Open, Shut Them".

Elle is getting so strong!  Look at her walk!

Cian, picked up the book and said happily, "Chicka BOOM, BOOM"

Nicki: Ella, it looks like some clay is stuck on your fingers!
Ella: Stuck on fingers!

Ella: Stuck on fingers!

Nicki:  Ella!  Now I see some between your toes!

Julia, cleaning clay from the babies.

  1. I am sure you are correct that Ella was saying "dog"! Her favorite stuffed animal that she sleeps with is a dog... So no surprise she "called" to check in with him today :). Great pics from today. Ella's grandparents especially love to know that she is thinking about them while she is at school!
