SS1 - Wed, July 8th

Some of you may have noticed how one of our classrooms has been transformed into our very own beach!  A team of teachers worked very hard to create a space that we hope evokes lots of play that reminds us of summer.  We did an initial exploration of the space yesterday afternoon and hope to take the rest of the student before the week ends.

Today, we ventured outside, despite the gloomy weather.  The students have been encouraged to tell us what they see as we walk.  We spotted dogs, butterflies, cars, busses, and big cars.  We all took turns exploring the park and playing with bubbles.  Soon, we shall enjoy the park for picnics and water play.  The students seemed to enjoy some impromptu kitchen play and a few music making sessions.

Exploring the park!

Hydrating is serious business...at least by the looks of Tomas.

Valdi was eager to play with these older boys we saw at the park playing soccer.

Tomas, driving in the gym.

Anna, playing with my flip-flops again!

Cian was very mobile in the gym.

Cian and Camille playing with stickers.

We found Camille and Elle banging the pots back and forth, almost repeating the rhythms they heard from one another.
